AMERICA 250: Middletown Celebrates America's Semiquincentennial

The City of Middletown, and surrounding cities and towns across Middlesex County, will come together to celebrate America's Semiquincentennial - the 250th anniversary of the United States!

The Middlesex County America 250 Parade will be held in Middletown on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2026, beginning at 10 a.m. The parade is set to step off in Middletown's North End, near Spring Street and Rome Avenue, and will come down Main Street and end at the South Green at Union Park.

The Middletown High School Marching Band, Color Guard, and Cheerleaders are expected to take part and perform in Monday's parade.

Middletown Mayor Gene Nocera and Portland First Selectman Michael Pelton will speak at the South Green at the end of the parade.

Food trucks will be on hand for visitors to purchase food. Local businesses along Main Street will be open for guests to stop in. Community members are welcome to bring their own refreshments and picnic on the South Green, and enjoy a community gathering.

Roads along the parade route will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, and will remain closed until at least 11 a.m., when the parade has concluded.

As a reminder, all Middletown Public Schools are closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of the federal Labor Day holiday.
